Thanks for pointing this out, it did seem wrong.... It is an old house that we moved into, had several extensions over the years and I think alot of work has been carried out on the electrics that are questionable to say the least, hence the testing today.....

The bare earth cable just goes into the concrete floor, one to the incoming supply earth, the others go into the CU, and a clock for the now redundant economy 7 power. And another one that goes up into the ceiling..... and thats about all we know about it :-) (for now)
