    Replacing Farfisa 724N handset - 6 connections ?

Thanks for that, it would have been an option. I’ve now fitted the replacement, left the 6th wire unconnected. Appears to work OK, only thing I need to confirm is that I can be heard when there is a caller, maybe the postman tomorrow morning. Thanks very much for your time and help.

    Replacing Farfisa 724N handset - 6 connections ?

The switch that is broken is the one that operates when the handset is lifted. When the handset is on the base the switch breaks contact and isolates the handset. The plastic on which the switch pivots is broken. It’s easy enough to override the switch but not a practical solution. Two pics, one...

    Replacing Farfisa 724N handset - 6 connections ?

Yes that’s a good idea, one of the switches is broken but I could try and cobble something to try and get round that to see if it works without No.9

    Replacing Farfisa 724N handset - 6 connections ?

Thanks, the handset is obsolete so I’ve had to get an alternative. I do have the two diagrams for the old and new phone, my issue is that the old handset has six wires not five. It has a wire connected to terminal 9 and the diagrams don’t show this.

    Replacing Farfisa 724N handset - 6 connections ?

Hi hope someone can help please. My old Farfisa handset has finally given up and I need to replace it. I have bought a Fermax Loft Universal handset. I’ve searched the web and everything I’ve found only show 5 connections to the Farfisa however I have 6. My additional connection is to terminal 9...

Using existing thermostat wiring to link to nest heat link

A final question if you would be so kind. Reading the nest literature it says the heat link should be placed near the boiler (>30cm). Is there any reason for this? It’s just that rather than change the wiring in the fused spur switch (contains thermostat wiring too) and fiddle around with...

Using existing thermostat wiring to link to nest heat link

Thanks for your swift response. Makes perfect sense. Expecting nest to be delivered today then it’s a visit to Wickes to buy a couple of bits and get the job done. Thanks for your help.

Using existing thermostat wiring to link to nest heat link

Im at the property now, it’s not Danfoss it’s Drayton RTS1 which is 240v. The connections (connector blocks) for the thermostat cable are in the fused spur that powers the boiler. At the thermostat the connections are Red-Live, Black-Neutral, Black-Call. I can identify that the black call wire...

Using existing thermostat wiring to link to nest heat link

Hi hope someone can help me. I’m planning to install a nest 3rd generation thermostat to control my Vailliant ecotec combi boiler. I will be locating the nest thermostat in an alternative location to the existing thermostat so no wiring for thermostat other than plugging it it is required. My...
