thanks for the advice, i'll look at using linseed oil next time. I think the smell is slowly dissipating.

i don't think i've ever smelt a cricket bat but sounds alot nicer that the smell i have. will have to look at using linseed oil in the future. this i a rather chemically white spirit type smell.

I have a stone resin show tray that needs resealed. I was planning on using Dow 785 silicone. Does anyone know if it is ok to use acetoxy silicone with stone resin trays. Manufactuers website has no information about this. Thanks

I have a loft ladder that was installed a while back and the hinges have now worn so that the hatch does not close. I have an issue in that i did not fit the ladder and don't know what make it is to try to replace the hinges. the only clue i have is the safety notice. I know its a long shot...

After some further research and looking at the door I found the below image. It looks like the door has been installed too far back in the opening ie directly over the cavity rather than above the exterior bricks. I think this has been done as the door is not a standard size and was too high...
