not really, at such an early stage, and I know there are (or used to be) some very knowledgable engineers on here

    quick gas capacity question

the supply pipe is 12", the outlet I'm hoping to use is 3/4", but if its too small, there is a 1" I can use in a slightly less preferable location. full bore valves on them both. Pipe from here to the heater will be about 5 meters, and will need 4 90 degree elbows. The governor can go anywhere...

Good grief. Does anyone read the original post? And no, its not 70Mbar lol

    quick gas capacity question

I asked because i thought someone might be able to point me to a calculator thats all. Its only one variable thats different to domestic gas No site contractors. Yet, its just a feasibility thing im working on

    quick gas capacity question

Its not a domestic meter, obviously. I never mentioned a meter at all. Just pipe sizing I dont know would have been an ok answer

    quick gas capacity question

Im not arguing, because i know what i have. Imagine the size of pipe id need for 1 megawatt at 20mbar

    quick gas capacity question

I can assure you that i do have a 70 and 35 mbar main in the building, since i use about 23MW of gas at peak. I wouldnt have a governor on every appliance otherwise. Anyway, i just wanted to know if i could get 60kW out of an existing 1"tapping at 70 mbar for a small water heater

    quick gas capacity question

its not up stream of the governor, that's the MP main, we have our own governors for each appliance whether its off the 70mbar system, or the 35mbar system

    quick gas capacity question

I already have the 70 mbar natural gas supply

    quick gas capacity question

Hi, im not doing any work here, just looking at feasibility. How many kW can I get from a 1" tapping at 70mbar for natural gas. The supply is more than big enough, and again at 3/4" or can anyone point me to how to work it out Thanks

    flexible gas joints

im not doing anything, just curious. how would you take a supply from an existing tapping where the building flexes by, say, half an inch? can you use an annoconda like at a meter, or one of the EPDM bellows? Do regs allow this, or does it all have to be rigid pipe?

    direct fired gas water heater

ok, i get it now. I spoke to one of the manufacturers who has specced a system at 30kW. the gas supply is 70mbar 8" so should just about manage it ;) its certainly given me some good stuff to consider Thanks

    direct fired gas water heater

the ACV generators look interesting, how do they (and the others i guess) work with the secondary return on the hot water? we dont have any boilers anymore, the existing cylinders dont have coils in them so they would have to go no matter what happens.
