Is it worth altering the water temperature dial spring/autumn to winter?

I'm guessing that there will be an optimum flow temperature for maximum efficiency? - taking into account the building thermal characteristics and outside and inside temperature. Too high heats rooms faster but will use more energy? Not sure how weather compensation achieves this any differently...

    Moving from Sonos

That's really valuable information Lucid, thanks. I have 250-300 cds, I do add to them from time to time. I've a very old ( 1980s!) Yamaha cd player and a Sony blu ray player at the moment. I'll give the NAS some serious thought.

    Moving from Sonos

Interesting suggestions. What might be a good cd player to add to the mix ?

Hive or Worcester Bosch Easy wireless control.

Thanks for the replies and information. Hive seems to be favoured by most installers? Hive is completely wireless i think, the Easy control seems, possibly to require a 2 core connection to the boiler, or, at least, mains power pack.

Hive or Worcester Bosch Easy wireless control.

New install of worcester bosch 4000 combi. Would there be any preference in using Hive, compared to worcester bosch easy control ?

    Hot Water Cylinder Lifespan

Thanks for the replies. It's probably around 50yrs old, copper, no thermostat pockets (probably weren't used then!) Was originally gravity feed, converted to fully pumped around 20yrs ago.

Wondering what is the general lifespan of an open vented conventional hot water cylinder?

DAB Radio needed to turn on when power applied

That's the idea, keeps it simple. One button, on or off, classic fm locked in !

DAB Radio needed to turn on when power applied

I know, agreed re DAB, it's just the last radio ( which developed a fault ) was DAB. FM might be OK, reception not brilliant though.

DAB Radio needed to turn on when power applied

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's actually for an immobile elderly relative. They don't like Alexa, thinks it's creepy! I guess a radio with its own remote might be the best solution.
