That is what I thought.
I've just recharged it to 1 bar (after de-pressurising the system)
I wish what I witnessed suggested anything as calculated as that. I was chatting with him the whole time and prior to this, he didn't check the presssure at all, and when he let the air out he kept...
I had service engineer out for my annual boiler service and I told him that about 2x a year the system will lose pressure and I have to refill it from filling loop.
He was already in the boiler at this point so he took the valve cover off the internal expansion bladder that's in the boiler and...
Originally (before I did anything):
Blue - 3
Gold - just under 4
Then about 3 days ago (when I started trouble shooting):
Blue - I changed to 5
Gold - I didn't know it existed so it stayed at just under 4
At this point, the water was 53.9 when heated by the boiler, but 70 when heated by...
So it actually looks like the cylinder has 2 stats - one for the immersion heater (blue dial, numbers 1 - 5), and a second for when it heats from the boiler (gold screw, numbers 1 - 5).
Anyway, I turned the blue dial up/down and the valve didn't move. I turned the gold screw to "1" and the...
Thanks. Yeah the boiler has a dial for HW and a dial for radiator temp. I was told that the HW dial does nothing when its used as a system boiler, its just there for when its used as a combi? Either way, I have it whacked to max just in case.
Yes, this is usually between 74-77 when its...
Hi.
I've got a Pullin Evolution 250l indirect unvented cylinder, connected to a Vaillant ecotec plus 637 system boiler.
It heats from the gas boiler normally, but also has an electric immersion for emergencies.
My boiler flow temp is set to 75, the HW dial on the boiler is set to 70, the stat...
Thanks, I wouldn't attempt taking it apart - if tightening it up doesn't work I would get someone in to replace it. I'm an 'easy fix = DIY but dismantle/reassemble = call the pro's' type of guy when it comes to boilers.
But it looks like just tightening it has worked for now - no more dripping...
This valve is coming from one of the pipes that go directly up into my Valiant Ecotec boiler.
It is dripping water, filling that green bowl every 6 hours or so.
I assume its a pressure relief valve? But the pressure is not any higher than it always is - The boiler is working fine and pressure...
