    I can't lift the lid really as it's got all the old original tiles on it and they havent been laid into a lid theyre just laid directly on top so they'd all have to be broken away then put back neatly which would take me a while and probably would look worse than before. What about painting...

    Found out its not actually a gas pipe, not sure what it is though. Need to get someone out so we can get rid of it. There is a hole in the ceiling at the end of the shed that has a metal disc on top of it, that's underneath the tiles of the above walk way, water is coming in there when it rains...

It's cast iron underneath the rusted covering, Im still not sure how it can bend that much as it seems pretty solid where ive pulled the covering away.
