    Timber bay window insulation

So all the lathe and plaster is off, void is 100mm deep. Looks like timber cladding on the outside then I guess batons with L&P render over that. I was thinking about the vapour barrier, pointless doing it from the inside. So surely drytherm cavity wall insulation would be best?

Is my bathroom extractor ducting too long?

Short, taught, straight ducting is needed, minimum bends, no sags. Definitely needs to be insulated, you can buy pre insulated flexi or rigid ducting nowadays. Fan performance also needs to be considered along with back pressure when you have longer duct runs.

New 12v extractor fan connect to original timer?

Or.... get a Greenwood Airvac CV2GIP. It has TimerSmart and HumidiSmart so no external timer is needed. Brilliant fans, do what they are meant to with no nuisance running. I am biased of course (I'm the Quality manager for Greenwood/Zehnder).

    Timber bay window insulation

Outer wall i assume is also lathes and render, I base that assumption on the fact i had to remove the lathe and render apex above our bedroom bay window (same bay window as original question) back in spring last year as it was damaged... Depth of the void for insulation, well I don't know that...

    Timber bay window insulation

Hello all, I have to replace the crumbling lathe and plaster on our square bay window in our bedroom before the plasterers come to skim all the walls and ceiling. I would like to insulate the cavity while I have access, but what do I use without causing any damp issues? I was thinking sound...

    Bouncy Floor

Thank you for the reply. So, i am yet to pull all of the floorboards up, i have done a few and from what i have seen are a lot of older notches and holes from previous services. The joist are from 2" x 6" (definitely 2", all floorboards are back down but from memory the joist are 6" deep) and...

    Bouncy Floor

Good Morning all, I'm new here, so be kind. I own a 1890's end of terrace 3 bed house which seems to have last been decorated in 1895! Haha. Anyway, my 3rd bedroom, which is now my home office, seems to have a very bouncy floor, it's a 1st floor room, above the kitchen. I am a little...
