Apologies if I am not being clear enough.
The cable was removed in haste as I thought we wouldn't use it.
I have the cable that goes into the cooker switch from the consumer unit but I cannot get a cable back to this to then feed the oven.
I can access this cable under the kitchen unit and...
Hi guys,
I had a kitchen fitted a couple of years ago which came with a solid plate hob and was wired to a cooker switch.
I removed the cable from the switch when replacing hob to a gas one.
Original oven was fitted with a 13amp fuse and plug into kitchen cabinet. I have now bought an under...
Hi Guys,
I have recently purchased a Salus RT500RF wireless thermostat to connect to my Ideal Vogue boiler as we currently have no stat at all and I am unsure on a couple of things on fitting the transmitter to the boiler.
There is a single socket I can take a feed from to create a fused spur...
I'm looking to buy class 2 downlights as the lighting circuit has no earth and these will be operated by a wall switch.
These will also be replacing my current light fitting that is there already.
With regards to fitting these, could i simply loop the lights as in like daisy chain them together from the connector block on the downlight or would this be deemed as bad practice?
Also would 1mm2 twin and earth cable be sufficient?
Been looking at some 35W equivalent LED down lights, would these be bright enough if i got 3 of these?

We currently have a wall light there and its absolutely crap as it creates shadows and it just isn't bright enough.
With adding some down lights, we thought it would give the hallway a modern look but also with creating enough light that wouldn't make the room too bright as the hallway will...
My fault had a couple of vinos this evening :D
Would have liked 5 (including 1 at the top of the stairs) but would have had to buy 2 sets with one left over.
They seemed appealing with them being quite cheap.
I didn't realise they cost so much to run as we currently have 8 50W GU10's on...
 Never thought about it like that. That is eye watering on just 4 bulbs!
The problem i have is that my lighting ring has no earth and the ones i have been looking at are class 2 double insulated which require no earth.
I'm guessing that i could just easily swap the 50W...
Hi Everyone,
I would like to install some down lights in my hallway but not sure how many i would need?
My room size is approx 3.95m x 70cm and the height is approx 2.64m.
I'm thinking to buy 2 sets of 50W mains fixed down lights from here...
Not responsible for that wiring.
Jumped the gun a bit there so my apologies :)
On another note, the light switch and light have no been wired up and all working.
Thanks to everyone for their help :)
