    Ikea PAX

Ye - the whole mess of needing the expansion and having no skirting was worrying me there - I am going to look at the PAX units in store over the weekend, but didnt think the finish on them would allow for skirting.

    Ikea PAX

I have an empty bedroom, that has just been plastered. No Skirting boards, no laminate floor down yet. We want to go with IKEA PAX Wardrobes. Should I be thinking of these as built in wardrobes? Or should I just lay the floor, put the skirtings on and then assemble the wardrobes?

Have I created a condensation problem?

right - so I have a humidistat fan, If I adjust it to let it run on for a good while after the shower (and ensure there is enough of a gap below the door) then hopefully I should have enough airflow to prevent future problems?

Have I created a condensation problem?

ye -seems I have naively thought a towel rail and extractor (in any position) would be enough. The bathroom is tiny (1.7 x 1.9) meters I guess thats why I thought it would be fine (or I never thought much at all!). Maybe I will get lucky with a better air gap under the door, if not I will try...

Have I created a condensation problem?

There prob isnt a sufficient gap - floor was old carpet and now tiled - raised by about 8mm (and causing the door to get caught on the floor). I guess my next experiment is that I need to shower with the door ajar. If that clears it quicker, then I will replace the door sooner rather than...

Have I created a condensation problem?

Sorry - I missed your earlier post as well: Straight out Need to test - but I need to change the door anyway as the floor was tiled and the door sticks on one side - so will be a contributing factor I guess.

Have I created a condensation problem?

No.. that was my thoughts initially - only because the bathroom is always cold..

Have I created a condensation problem?

Thanks for the replies. I understand how the condensation forms and the relationship between heat and humidity, however I need to figure our the best way to solve this (or even if it is a problem!) It seems I have 2 issues with he heat - 1. The extractor fan I have had fitted seems to be...

Have I created a condensation problem?

Will do - might be another week or so tho.. :( Is it ok to do the same as I done with the other plastered (non bathroom walls) - I was using white emulation with no vinyl in it - but maybe for a bathroom finish coat I should use a heavier paint?

Have I created a condensation problem?

I, Just got bathroom done and a central heating system installed (by separate people). The bathroom is tiled fully to the ceiling, he ceiling has been plastered but not as yet decorated. The central heating was done before hand and we opted for a small towel rail inside the bathroom. Before...

    Post skim bubbles in plaster

Hi, Had a few walls skimmed about 6 weeks ago. I have given them a couple of coats of screwfix paint for plaster. Most of it seems well, except in a couple of areas where the plaster has bubbled slightly. I thought this was down to the surface plaster being spread too thinly, but I suspect...

How well does plaster specific paint spead

Just a follow up - its good stuff all right - 2 coats of this, then I got away with 1 coat of Dulux trade vinyl matt (except the first wall - always takes a wall to remember how to paint!) EDIT - Also multiple coats on the walls we decided to change colour on..!

Another underlay and materials thread (and other random questions) for laminate

Well finally got to do it this weekend.. Turned out not nearly as bad as I thought. Spent a lot of time on the wooden floorboard subfloor, screwing down loose boards that had been cut for services, removing old squeeky nails etc. Went with the green fibreboard only, seems to be quite good at...
