Thanks for the response. Would that only temporarily fix the issue, or will the door stop sticking after a while itself? It's reduced now, but if you close a door all night and then open it the morning after, even a week after the glossing was finished, you still get a squelch noise.

Hi
Had my hallway decorated by decorators and they finished on Thursday. Everything was sanded right down to almost original undercoat and the handrail and spindles all had a coat of undercoat (as they had been painted with a really dark cherry paint before) and then a coat of Crown Quick...
Pressure gauge goes up and down so it shouldn't be that. Filled to 1.5 bar, goes up to 1.7 bar when the hot water has been on for about half an hour.
I'll check the boiler make and model.
I'm assuming unvented. It's in the loft, and the expansion tank is next to it. How can I tell the difference?
He is a Gas Safe registered plumber who we have used before (and he's done a good job before), and I guess this is just his experience telling him it'll be one of those two items, but...
Another thing...the pipes that supply the boiler sound like they have quite a lot of air in. When it's on you can hear very faint noise, almost like fizzing/bubbling, coming from the pipes.
Sure that's nothing to do with it but thought it might still be worth posting.
Got an odd one here.
My boiler overflow pipe started leaking we estimate sometime around six weeks ago (we noticed it dripping three weeks ago with a bit of green limescale on it, now it's got more limescale).
It only leaks when the hot water comes on for 40 mins in the morning and in the...
Now paranoid that he's overtightened them. He said there was quite a bit of movement in both connections.
I'll let it all cool down and see if it leaks, and then run it for a few days to make sure that no leaks occur. If not I'll turn the isolation valves off and clean it this weekend...
Yeah, I've got the spanner. I've just heard so many horror stories over the past 24 hours.
Athough he's said this morning that he's never had one leak from the valves. He has from the main o-ring in the lid (two or three out of about 30) but never from the valves or anywhere else, not with...
No, he didn't isolate it. Just tightened up the connections...I'm actually quite worried about turning the isolation valves and causing a leak there. I know that's defeating the point but... :D
I had a similar issue when we had our system installed last year. And you definitely can get interference from other wireless devices on any wireless device. It's rare, but not uncommon. At our last house whenever our phone rang, the next door neighbour's doorbell went off.
Had a Honeywell...
He has just been and tightened up the connections to that part of the Magnaclean. Apparently there was quite a bit of play on both connections. Where it is, is in a loft void above the utility. Therefore it gets really cold. He wonders whether the cold got to it, shrunk the joints/iced up a...
Where can you get a Spirotech from? I've tried the websites of all local plumbing suppliers (like Plumb center) and nowhere seems to stock them.
Closest I can find is a Sentinel.
