I wasn't sure how to check the meter reading, so I replaced the heating element at a cost of £50, alas the dishwasher is still not drying the dishes. I would appreciate any suggestions on what the cause of the problem could be and any solutions. Many Thanks.

Hi my dishwasher DC1450 has just developed a fault of not drying the dishes. It sounds to me like the heating element? Is this easy to change? and has anyone got any instructions on how to do this ? Other symptoms - the soap tablet does not dissolve properly and there are no warning codes...

Confirmation ... it was the stopcock in the road that caused the problem. Why it was turned off is a mystery. Andy, you are a star! , guys around you must be so lucky...thanks again.

Just found out they are away for the weekend. I will talk to their maintenance man to see if he has been doing work there - doubtful though as they surely wouldn't have gone away. :?

Hi Andy ...again !. This time the problem is in my home. I live in a very old cottage that was part of a larger house that has been split into 3. It appears that I have 2 mains feed, some of my house cold water outlets work (Kitchen sink, showers, bath) but others don't (3xwc's and 3 basins)...

NB. I have tried a flexi wire (about 2M long in the outlet pipes), also the hot water is ok.

I looked at the large header tank in the loft, it was 1/3rd full (outlets well below water level), and float suspended in mid air. I thought it may be the valve so I switched the isolation valve off and replaced the valve. Switched it back on again and still no water feed. Any help/advice...

Update: I managed to get cold water up to the bathroom basin, bath and shower, hot 'taps'. I then managed to get it up to the header tank as water reached the overflow pipe that 'cut in'. Pressure has improved in the bathroom although the bath pressure appears to be very low. Not sure what it...

I have managed that and forced cold water up the pipe to come out cold in both the bath and basin 'hot' taps. Having shut off the cold in the kitchen, the hot taps in the bathroom are still losing pressure.

I have switched on the kitchen mixer and managed to stop the hot water coming out with my finger. But when I slowly turn on the cold water, it escapes past my finger. Whilst this is happening I have another person turning the hot tap on in the bathroom. Water in the bathroom runs out the tap...

We had tried running the water for over an hour :-/ The bathroom taps were still without pressure.
