Crown Imperial Cotswood In Frame Cabinets and Drawers - Help Required

I worked it out! Clipped 2 rectangular spacers together for the runners so now the drawers are installed. The soft close doorstops screw into hinge holes on the opposite side of the hinges, again courtesy of some spacers. Job done.

Crown Imperial Cotswood In Frame Cabinets and Drawers - Help Required

To save money I have installed most of the new kitchen myself and it looks very nice. However, I am stuck on a couple of points and the instructions received with the flatpack / online are useless: 1. How to fix the drawer runners on the 1000mm base unit - when attached directly to the carcass...

I have just had a Clearview Pioneer 400 stove installed into the old fireplace in my Victorian Terrace. The HETAS engineer that we used wasn't able to obtain the wood in time for the surround and mantle that I am after and given that this should be a simple job - I had planned to have this...

Hi, I live in Croydon and have just ordered a survey for installation of a log burning stove from a company I found on google. They quoted me over the phone a ball park figure of £2,000 - £2,600 to include the stove and liner etc but will provide a firm quote after the survey. I don't...

How to test whether a BT cable is live...

I have 2 functioning BT phone sockets upstairs in my house but the downstairs socket does not work but from following the wiring it appears to be wired up. Is there any way to check whether the cable running into the phone socket is live as if it is I can re-wire it to a new socket.

New light fittings in lounge - won't turn off

Yeah that makes sense as the system did trip at one point and the dimmer wouldn't work after that. I've ordered a new dimmer and some LED candle bulbs for the fittings so hopefully once they're installed everything should be hunky dory. Thanks everybody for the help!

New light fittings in lounge - won't turn off

Yes, I'm assuming option 3 should be the one to get the whole thing working properly. I will re-check to make sure none of the connections have come loose. The "middle" red is the permanenty live cable and the switch red appears to lead to light 2.

New light fittings in lounge - won't turn off

I've tried each red wire in turn with the following results: Red wire from "switch" cable - light 2 permanently on. Red wire from "middle" cable - light 1 permanently on. Red wire from Cable "3" - no power to anything. :?:

New light fittings in lounge - won't turn off

I've just replaced the old light fittings in the lounge which are 2 separate fittings powered by a single dimmer switch. Light fitting 1 contained a ceiling rose and I located the switch (black) cable and wired that to one terminal. The other two black cables I wired to the other terminal in...
