    Fascia Painting cost.

Cheers, i'm guessing it'll be a scaffolding job over the garage for the roof apex. Its about 9 or 10 ft to the roof apex from the garage apex.

    New light fitting - Confused.

Thanks all. Got it sorted. Unfortunately the B&Q instructions that came with this were not worth the paper they were written on. Totally misleading.

    New light fitting - Confused.

Great, think I've got it then. So 2 supply neutral to neutral on fitting. 1 switched live to live on fitting 3 x earth to earth on fitting. 3 x red live to separate terminal block on it's own?

    Questions about tiling a floor.

Strangely enough the only telltale signs is the fact there seems to be nothing, no nails or screws. The chipboard is 600mm wide x 2000mm long & interlocking. I'm assuming the joins between the chipboard sits on the joists themselves, which i assume are 600mm apart??

    Questions about tiling a floor.

Have managed to do something about the height issue and have gone for 18mm ply. From looking at the chipboard, its difficult to tell where the joists are underneath as i want to screw into the joists where possible. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of nailheads etc which would...

    Questions about tiling a floor.

Thanks for the all the advice. Certainly gives me something to think about. We now have part of the laminate flooring up & the chipboard seems very sound & well held down with no noticeable movement. We have a slight issue in that we are intending on using 10mm tiles, and height is likely...

    Questions about tiling a floor.

The chipboard is floating on the floor joists. ( not sure how wide apart they are or how thick the chipboard is.) But the advice we've had so far is to put plywood down and screw to the chipboard flooring before tiling. I'm not sure what thickness is correct, or whether ply is correct at all.

    Questions about tiling a floor.

The advice was that we lay the plywood on top of the chipboard rather than replace so that we give the chipboard more strength. What info do i need?
