    Retrospective covenant

Club, Have you asked your solicitor? It should be contained within your deeds. I know that there is a clause in mine that anything from a garden shed to an extension needs the permission of the builders. Sounds a con but its there to stop people building out of keeping with the rest of the...

    Wooden framed raised flower beds

Thanks for the replies. Its been hard to find any firm prices for the stuff searching the web but all the indications are, as you all said, that it will cost an arm and a leg! As a result I have gone with the see how many years it lasts and replace it. The whole lot is only made of 12m of 4 x...

    Wooden framed raised flower beds

Thanks for the answer Nerine. Would hate to sort out all the plants only to watch them perish. My next question is can anyone point me in the right direction to find some copper flashing. I'll need a strip about 4m x 15cm and have tried all the local sheds and a couple of builders yards...

    Wooden framed raised flower beds

I'm part way through (finally) sorting out my garden. One of the things that has been added is a raised bed. Its made from treated 4 x 2 timber. I intend to leave the top of the frame square however I realise that this may increase the speed at which the wood rots due to water just sitting...

    Boarding out garage roof space

Thanks for the replies. The existing structure just holds the roof tiles up. Its a triangular construction (like the one shown here http://www.acrooftrusses.co.uk/truss/truss.htm) and the rafters are 35mm x 70mm.front to back is in 2 pieces joined about 75cm from the center of the span. I'm...

    Boarding out garage roof space

I am looking to board out the loft space in my detached garage and before I do I guess I am looking for some reassurance that what I have planned isn’t a dumb idea! It’s a modern build (1990ish) detached garage with an apex roof. In the center of each side wall is a single brick pillar that...

Zanussi WDJ - 1294 - now sorted thank

Shaun, Thanks for you advice and guidance. Simple instructions work well with me !!!! When I moved the washer out fully to look at the motor the other half of the coil casing was also on the floor with the magnet. All back on and works a treat again. :D Fido and Breezer, thanks for...

Cheers for that Breezer. Could this coming off cause the problem that I first described?

Zanussi WDJ - 1294 - now sorted thank

Thanks for the reply Fido. I 've not had chance to have a proper look at things yet however I have moved the thing out just to see what access I can get. When I moved it the was a metal disc on the floor. From one side it looks like a washer about 3.5 cm in diameter. On the other side it has...

    Dishwasher Waste Pipe Extension

I got a 2m extension and fitting kit from Focus some years ago. The fitting kit is just a firm 2 inch bit of plastic pipe that joins the two tubes together. You then put a clip round the end of each pipe to secure it.

Zanussi WDJ - 1294 - now sorted thank

I have a Zanussi jetsystem turbodry 1200 WDJ - 1294. Its around 7 years old and has work perfectly until today ! When a wash cycle (of any kind) is started the program selector dial just clicks though each one spending around 20 to 30 seconds on each until it reaches program 'A' and stops...
