Vaillant vcw 242 - slow differential valve

This boiler is locking out occassionally. The problem is the differential valve moving a little too slowly and not always opening the gas valve in time. I have stripped and cleaned the differential valve with initial success but now the problem is reoccurring. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

update - eventually located the problem to a mass of what looks like flux at an elbow. A tarnished green blob almost an inch long almost entirely choking the pipe. I have no idea how the boiler was ever commissioned. The confusing part is the report of deteriorating hot water performance. Can...

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

Never used it but I like the sound of it. Maybe worth considering. I imagine it as a more rigid version of PEX - or is it more flexible?

Could be fun. Converted flats. My view is if you're running new gas pipe then why not put in 22mm.

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

Shouldn't drop like that but is. Yes for sure working P at inlet. Not Burner pressure. Hence the problem. 22 mm at boiler does become 15mm behind washing machine. Someone has put in 2 feet of 22mm? Maybe this says something. Customer also now told me boiler was changed 2 years ago because of...

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

To clarify. 22mbar standing P at meter. 21 standing P at boiler. 2.5 working P at boiler. 21 working P at meter.

Working pressure reveals the problem to be in the pipework. Not the meter unfortunately. Realized why I hadn't checked working pressure initially - screw on nipple done ridiculously tightly.

Will report back on working pressure. 22mm gas piping to boiler - so again assumption made of sufficient flow. It's easy to see a diagnosis when you want to. Take nothing for granted. One of my bugbears is the difference between flow rate and pressure.

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

Thanks for replies. Thinking about your comments and logic it does seem to be a supply problem I will recheck working pressures next Monday. Have to admit I didn't check since cooker was working well and 21 mbar standing pressure, so assumed it was not gas supply problem. Yes, I did try to...

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

ollski manual says it runs between 1v and 9v. The valve itself says max 15v. Although Baxi said it needs 24v ? I'm going with what it says on the valve. At 7v I'd expect more than 2mabr.

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

It is hard water area but there doesn't appear to be any problem with flow through the primary circuit. If there was I would still expect some modulation. But I get none. Rads all heat nicely even on low flame, flow rate good at tap, diverter good, pump good. GV has been replaced. Burner...

    Baxi 105e - not modulating

3 year old boiler. Customer reported poor hot water flow. Checked burner pressure to find boiler is not modulating on CH or DHW. Burner pressure does not move from about 2 mbar. 21mbar available at inlet to GV. Suspected NTCs, Gas Valve, PCB NTCs are fine: have run with spares outside of...
