Thanks, John. The thing is, it's very difficult to access, it was difficult even just taking the photo, hence why I thought expanding sealing foam might be the best way to fill it. Is there a specific reason why I shouldn't use foam?

I'm not sure actually. but I was wondering the same myself. We've only been here about 6 months, and I only noticed that there was no external cover when I went to take the photographs.
