The window frames in the bedroom have developed a browny staining to them. It doesn't wipe off but I can scratch it off with my fingernails.
Any idea what it is and is there anything that will get rid of it because scraping it will take ages and be a pita.
Thanks
We have an intermittent issue with the underfloor heating. The manifold pump doesn't always activate. Turning the boiler off and restarting it seems to sort it. Any ideas please before I get someone out just so it appears I know what I'm talking about.
PRV changed when F1 fault started. Supposedly fixed air blockage to fix the F2 but it came back again over the weekend. Came back out yesterday and supposedly cleared more air blockage. Left and F2 reappeared. I've reset system this morning but turned it off when temp showing 110 degrees and...
I changed a TRV yesterday, added some Fernox inhibitor and f4 leak sealer. System worked for a while and has now shown the F2 code. Any ideas please?
Engineer coming out later
Hopefully sorted by a work around as we don't use the middle setting. So have set it to come on and switch off a minute later. Then set the middle timings to come on at different times as we needed. It seems to work on a test schedule anyway . Still don't understand why the first setting...
I've done a factory reset and set up the timings. I can confirm that on the first timing of the day the hw comes on with ch even though its set later. All the other timings work correctly.
We have the above timer to control underfloor heating downstairs and rads upstairs (2 zones) timed to come on at different times in the morning. For some reason the upstairs rads are coming on with the underfloor heating (set to come on an hour later). They turn off during the day so it's not...
We have had issues with surface water backfill i the 2 recent storms, causing our foul drainage system to overflow with surface water flooding (and also our neighbours). We have had the water company out to inspect the foul sewer and broached the subject of installing a non return valve.

It's not a new house, but it's only the bath cold tap that does this. Turning the sink cold tap doesn't affect it.
Possibly only had the issue since the combi was fitted though.
My son has a thermostatic shower bar fitted above his bath which has separate taps. The shower bar only gives him warm water unless he turns the cold tap running in his bath which then causes the shower to heat up further.
Water is heated by a combi boiler.
Hot taps themselves in the house are...
