And another boiler problem - I am jinxed!!!

Hmm, an appealing thought. I'm not sure she'd be too keen on me flogging her body for a bit of pipework though. Would be great if I could get all my building service work done like that though. Just you wait til I get my bathroom done. L

And another boiler problem - I am jinxed!!!

And in case you really were wondering anyone about the plumbing, apparently her pump went cos when they turned the system back on there was no water and it went round and round and round and broke. So she's getting a new pump installed in the old boiler. I said she can't blame the builders...

And another boiler problem - I am jinxed!!!

Now I really do think you're all mad. I don't have a photo at work but I'm sure I can find one for next time...although because I'm always talking I look like a pratt in photos!! What's with all the Carry On pics? Do I detect an obsession or just a private joke? I'm going home now to do...

And another boiler problem - I am jinxed!!!

Hmm, I'm sure you're all mad. Kev your see this was very helpful. (?) :? No I didn't think it was a diy job (there's no way I'd open the thing up, I'd get blown up knowing my luck), but its more to see whether the builders should pay for buggering it up or whether it is just something...

And another boiler problem - I am jinxed!!!

Hello, yes, Laura the boiler murderer is back, this time with boiler in the flat upstairs from mine, which I own freehold (i.e. its the leaseholder's boiler, I'm doing her a favour here). Its a gas potterton, looks pretty old and knackered to be honest (not a combi boiler, the other kind with...

    Juddering shaking brand new boiler...HELP!

Master Baters and Pervs by the looks of things! I don't eat beef cos its gross (i.e. nothing to do with moral or religious grounds), so would have to be quorn bolognese. Mmm. Have decided to wait til I'm off work for decorating purposes in a few days and get the heating engineer geezers...

    Juddering shaking brand new boiler...HELP!

Disconnect the hose from the pipework? Hmm, how does a poor single fit female do that? I think its the tap thing that's weird, its not a proper one, its like a bar thing that is only off when it is horizontal, turn it either way and it lets water in. Althugh the chemical solution symptoms...

    Juddering shaking brand new boiler...HELP!

Well, I do have a thing about chatting up sexy plumbers (especially seeing as you all earn about a million pounds a day), but actually I'm also a moron - my old boiler was an ariston, my new one is a worcester bosch and I got confused as to the makes when I wrote the first post!! I have a...

    Juddering shaking brand new boiler...HELP!

Its me again, I appear to be the unluckiest houseowner in Britain. I should be on DIY SOS! So, brand new combi boiler, closed system, Worcester Bosch boiler. Cost 2 grand including installation. Is now, three months later, making weird noises when the central heating is on (not when just...

Stupid stupid bleed valve leak - wet and bruised!!!

Just for your info, have finally sorted it out!!!! Turned off the lefthand valve, water still coming out of bleed valve, realised it was cos pressue was too high, drained the rad a bit, removed bleed valve, out back in with PTFE tape, opened valves, all working...

Stupid stupid bleed valve leak - wet and bruised!!!

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in that last post was I? (I am a forum virgin) - yes, the left hand rad valve at the bottom has the plastic cap, (as does the right one but that's much bigger and has the little numbers and snowflake as you said and is what I normally use to turn off/down a rad on its...

Stupid stupid bleed valve leak - wet and bruised!!!

Ah, you guys are brill! Thanks for the pics, that's really helpful!! Just got back into the office, and yes, over the wekend I had noticed the other screwy-bit on the bottom left side (the technical term you know) had a plastic cap on but it did seem to turn, so I turned it off. But it's...

Stupid stupid bleed valve leak - wet and bruised!!!

wee-ell...I only have one main valve on the right, so I've turned that off and its gone cold, but doesn't seems to be draining out - at least its gone cold anyway though, does that help? Currently I'm more concerned about actually getting the bleed valve out in order to re-seal it! It seems...

Stupid stupid bleed valve leak - wet and bruised!!!

Hiya Can't believe this is happening! I have a rad in the bathroom which is leaking from the bleed valve. Quite a bit (i've switched rad off, so why hasn't the level dropped below valve and leak stopped?). It is a sealed system, brand new ariston combi boiler. I can't seem to tighten or...
