    What exactly is the ACS - I have heard of it, I am thinking it must be an assessment / course required to be safe to work on gas ?? what does it include? IMO gas safety should be a compulsory assessment every 2 years for gas operatives (maybe a 1 day course) and only cost £50-100.

    Thanks for your help / tips I was thinking of just closing the gate valve to the hot water tank and not draining the whole cold water tank as well? Is it better to drain the whole cold water tank then? Thanks for the siphoning tip!! It will come in handy if the drain cock doesn't open!
