Hello
I have a problem and I think it may be worse than I first thought.
My small header tank is overflowing, dripping / trickling constantly, and has been doing this since yesterday. Having looked inside the tank the water level is very high, so I bailed it out into a bucket and it is now 1/3 full again. The oerflowing has now stopped.
The ball-valve though seems fine, and having thought for a few minutes, I believe my hot water cylinder must have a hole in its coil is there anyway to double check this to be absolute sure ? I can hear the cold water tank (large one) constantly trickling, like it is always filling slowly. But not in as noisy a way as it does when i run a bath / flush the toilet, etc.
Has my fear come true?
If it is the hot water tank's coil that has holed, i will need to replace it won't I? And this will be a really long, fiddly job as my hot water tank connections are in very confined spaces!
Thank you for reading and any help would be really nice,
All the best
