Plumped for the mid range BT Mesh system. £200 from Amazon. it works well. Saved me running the cable and I get 20mbps download speed in there which is enough for what I need.

Internet in my FARADAY CAGE !!!

My IT guy at work has recommended one of these MESH systems. Not cheap for what they are but it would save me the labour of running a cable all the way down there Anyone got any experience of them. I suppose I coud just buy them from amazon and return them it they are not successful in...

Internet in my FARADAY CAGE !!!

That would be my ideal plan but the cable run is painful. Thinkign of trying one of these mesh systems and see if I can plug one in inside nearest the mancave and one in the mancave. See if I can piggy back it into the cave that way.

Internet in my FARADAY CAGE !!!

Bit late to do that. Possible but loads of messing around sendign the cable through two internal walls and then an external wall. Looking for more of an out of the box solution really. Thats if there is one,

Internet in my FARADAY CAGE !!!

I tried this and my laptop works fine. I then got an old router and plugged this into the wifi booster and thats when I started having issues. Very hit and miss and I kept having to reboot the booster. Not s long term solution really.

Internet in my FARADAY CAGE !!!

So I have been building my man cave at the bottom of the garden. I have a wifi extender plugged into the conservatory which boosts the wifi to the bottom of the garden and therefore thought no problem. However I have insulated the mancave so well with PIR boards and aluminium tape and fitted...

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

I have turning the 3 way valve to get more heat into the hot water. In your expert opinion would i be best to renew this and then see what the water temp is like before I perform heart surgery on the boiler ? I would even be prepared to just renew the damn heat exchanger if I could get it off...

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

Cheers. I was thinking that. In your experience how long does the pipe freeze last if the water is hot in the pipe ? I will need to take the xchanger off for a while as i need to descale it.

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

powell30. Yes you are correct. I am actually a pump engineer involved in the offshore industry so I am pretty clued up on pumping systems. This however has so far cost me a tin of paint for the living room ceiling due to the stains. I woudl have thought that draining the heat store...

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

Yes you are correct. It is the DHW heat exchanger which is externally mounted. Not touching anything to do with the gas side of the appliance. It looked a simple job to begin with !

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

I did that as well. I connected a hose to the drain cock and run it down the drain. I was not sure if this had a dip tube in the bottom of the heat store as the ammount of water that came from the pump was unbelieveable. I also emptied the header tank and drained from the lowest couple of...

    Powermax 155x - Heat Exchanger

I went to remove the heat exchanger and 3 way blending valve on my boiler this morning as the hot water is not as it should be. I think either the 3 way valve is at fault or the heat exchanger is fouled. I followed all of the instructions in the manual, i.e. closing the isolation valve...

    Powermax 155 Refilling

Silly me I was looking for a large tank like an immersion heater. they have hidden an atmospheric tank in a cupboard on top of the boiler. It was all hidden away with mdf. Does this mean this tank refills itself when i drain the water off a radiator. Does it automatically control the...
