    Old Vaillant boiler keeps "whirring".

Ah, having read my post from some years ago, I now see it is a Vaillant VC GB 242 EH model. If that's any help?

    Old Vaillant boiler keeps "whirring".

Good evening, I hope someone who knows their old Vaillant boilers will be able to shed some light on how I can proceed with mine. You guys have come good a few times for me before, so here's to hoping! I've checked existing threads, but can't find one that matches. It is an old Vaillant...

I can't see on my boiler which kind it is, but this is what it says on the cover of the manual.

Raw plugs too big for holes -grr!

Back again, job done! Couldn't bang them in further, but sheered them level with the wall, screwed on the brackets and nobody will ever know I had a bit of a blonde moment! It looks lovely and feels very secure. And I've learnt something too. Hurrah, you helped me save face

Raw plugs too big for holes -grr!

Thank you so much both! I'll have a go and do what I can. I feel too scared to just pull, I think, so I might just see if I can get them any further in and cut the excess off. I did hoover the dust out of the holes, but I suspect the holes were too narrow and that I should have used the next...

Raw plugs too big for holes -grr!

I am putting up a wall-mounted bookshelf in my daughter's bedroom. I drilled the holes (6.5 bit, which looked about right) and popped in the plugs (brown) only to find that the plugs are are too big for the holes, sticking out by about 10 mm. Now they are stuck in the wall and I daren't...

MX Duo LXi Electric Shower leaks!

I've just come back from being away, or I would have responded sooner. This is just what I want to hear, what a relief! I love this site and the fact that people like you are sharing your expertise so generously, making light and easy work of what would otherwise be such a knicker-twisty pickle...

MX Duo LXi Electric Shower leaks!

Thank you, that is very helpful. Is it something I could realistically fit on my own, having never tinkered about with anything like a shower unit before? I'm pretty undaunted, but recognise when I'm out of my depth too... What's the difficulty rating, would you say?

MX Duo LXi Electric Shower leaks!

That was really helpful. I am so pleased you took the time to advise me, it is very encouraging. I did as you said and took off the front cover and ran the shower. I have created a new album with photos of what I discovered :) It was clear straight away that the water is spraying from behind...

MX Duo LXi Electric Shower leaks!

Hi there, How should I go about finding out what is wrong with my electrical shower unit? It is fine when not in use, and when the power is switched on, but as soon as I turn the dial to select my shower setting a steady trickle of water starts to dribble out of the bottom of the plastic...
