I don't want to sound dumb but what is a toffee hammer!!! Should I take the black screw off...as the pin is flat with that.

Two of the rads work downstairs...3 don't. i took the TVR off last night and wondered how pushing the pin down will work as that switches it off. also it is as down as it can go unless i take the plastic nut off and then that reveals the pin. I can't push it down.

the radiators upstairs all work but I have three downstairs that don't. The pipes leading to the rads are cold. It doesn't make any difference if i remove the TVR. I don't know if the pin is up or down to be honest! I don't want to get pliers and pull it up incase i do any damage...
