the radiators upstairs all work but I have three downstairs that don't.

The pipes leading to the rads are cold.

It doesn't make any difference if i remove the TVR.

I don't know if the pin is up or down to be honest!

I don't want to get pliers and pull it up incase i do any damage!

What should I do????

try moving the pin it may be stuck.
but i would say its more like an airlock in the drop down pipes from upstairs.
you could shut the upstairs rads to push the flow round downstairs.

Two of the rads work downstairs...3 don't.

i took the TVR off last night and wondered how pushing the pin down will work as that switches it off. also it is as down as it can go unless i take the plastic nut off and then that reveals the pin. I can't push it down.

ok, trv sounds like its stuck off. keep gently tapping it down with a toffee hammer or similar & it will eventually pop up. keep pressing it & letting it spring back to make sure it frees up. test operation.

I don't want to sound dumb but what is a toffee hammer!!!

Should I take the black screw off...as the pin is flat with that.

little hammer.

if you unscrew anything you are liable to get wet.

what make is trv ?
