    Nest with ESi

Thanks. So if I go with your original approach, what do I do about Common (2)?

    Nest with ESi

Hi Stem, thanks for your response - much appreciated. No, the thermostats aren't programmable, and the programmer should be controlling both heating and hot water. Although I haven't changed the programmer from "always on", so can't confirm if it actually works like that. It's a brand-new...

    Nest with ESi

Hi, I wired up my Nest (3rd gen) fine in my old house a few years ago, but have just moved into a new build and the heating system is WAY more complicated than the last one! We have a boiler in the garage, hot water cylinder in a cupboard upstairs, programmer in the utility room and two zones...

    Nest Installation Question

From both of the TA blocks to Nest Link 2 and 3. Make sure you remove the joining wire from "TA" to "=" if there's one there. Obviously you also need the wires from N to N and L to L too.

    Nest Installation Question

Hi Steven, Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I did. Good luck - it's pretty straightforward. Anthony

    Nest Installation Question

The service manual for the boiler has schematics for installing both a programmer and a thermostat, so I was planning on wiring both. Although thinking about it, I probably won't have much use for the programmer once I have a thermostat installed. Would you recommend removing the programmer?

    Nest Installation Question

Thanks again. The boiler doesn't have any connections for hot water control, but I'm okay with that. Once it's installed, should I leave the switch on my CH programmer to on or off?

    Nest Installation Question

Excellent, thanks for your response. Am I right in assuming that there's simply a relay switch between 2 and 3, so it's actually a separately isolated circuit and could carry any voltage?

    Nest Installation Question

Hi, I've ordered a Nest Thermostat and I'm planning on installing it myself. I'm pretty comfortable getting stuck in with these things, and have replaced various components on the boiler (electric side only, I'm not crazy!), washing machine and dishwasher before. I've got the service manual...

Replacing Ignition PCB on Linea 24

Hi, We had our boiler serviced just before Xmas. Just before the service the hot water had started being temperamental - sometimes it would run hot, then cold and you could get it to run hot again by turning the tap off and waiting a minute. I mentioned it to the engineer and after the...

    Shower no longer reaching hot

The shower is only just over two years old, and a replacement one is going to cost me £165, so I think it's worth trying to fix it myself first. If it's one of the heating elements rather than the switches, is there any other reason one of the switches is conducting electricity and the...

    Shower no longer reaching hot

Hi, In the middle of a shower the other day, one of the switches tripped in the fuse box and when I turned it back on, the shower was quite cold. If I turn the temperature dial all the way to hot then the temperature is almost hot enough, but the pressure is terrible. I'm far from an...
