    Ideal Icos He12

Engineer called today and found no supply to the PCB at all. Traced the fault to a bad connection. When I was pushing on the frame of the boiler it must have been making the connection. Engineer only charged a few quid so happy days.

    Ideal Icos He12

I've taken the user panel off and can see the connector you are referring to but there isn't any sign of water damage.

    Ideal Icos He12

Hi All I'm having problems with my 10 year old Ideal Icos He12. The front screen has starting flashing and crackling as if there is a short some where. I initially thought it was just the user control unit as when I put pressure on the front panel the boiler would work perfectly. I've...

    Thermostat Replacement

Hello I have recently bought a battery powered digital thermostat to replace my Siemens mechanical type. Someone has told me that you can't replace a mechanical thermostat with just any digital one. I was under the impression however that it was just a switch ie on and off. Can anyone shed...

    Cooker Supply

At the moment I believe the cooker is connected to a cooker socket, however I'd like to replace my gas hob for a ceramic. I was thinking that I could run the hob from the 32amp cooker socket and run the cooker off the socket that the gas hob ignition was plugged in to. Does that sound feasible.

    Cooker Supply

Hello Could anyone tell me if it is o.k to connect my Whirlpool Oven to a 13amp socket. The oven is a 2.3kw and the instruction manual shows a power supply table which states Type of cable required being H05 RR-F 3x1.5mm2. The model number is AK2456/ix if that is any help. Thanks...

    Combi in an airing cupboard

Nice one! Just check the Vaillant info and it states that no ventilation is required. Thanks for the help everyone. I'll just have to convince the surveyor now.

    Combi in an airing cupboard

My installation manual says to refer to BS6891 when installing in a cupboard. I can't find any info on the net.

    Combi in an airing cupboard

Yes it does get it's air from outside, right from above the boiler and straight out through the wall in fact. I think I'm a victim of another over zelous surveyor. The trouble is I'm moving to a new house and if I don't get the chain moving soon I'm going to loose my plot or the plot as the...

    Combi in an airing cupboard

Hello About four years ago I had a Vaillant 828E Turbo Plus installed in an airing cupboard in one of my bedrooms. The installation was carried out by a Corgi registered company and everything went according to plan. I am now in the process of selling my house and have just heard from the...

    Candy AQ 130

Hello Ever since I bought my Candy AQ 130 (About 6 Months Ago) small items like the baby's socks get caught between the door and the seal. Does anyone know if this is a common problem, can I fix it myself perhaps? Any info would be great. Thanks

    Plaster over mesh

Hello I've got a plasterer coming next week to cover a wooden lintel in my bay. I need as much space as possible for a vertical blind track to go up so the thinner the material over the lintel the better. I've been told that you can plaster over a special mesh, has anyone had any experience...
