    Classic crapy porch pulling away

Thanks all. It's one of those awkward things where there isn't really anywhere for the water to run properly. It was indeed a cowboy/DIY job and it should have been done properly in the first place. I'm sure there aren't any decents footings (also explains the eye watering quote we had to...

    Classic crapy porch pulling away

Tar, noone has said but I think it's the porch guttering draining into the ground next to it (not the house) - but the main property is fine.

    Classic crapy porch pulling away

Hi, Cheapest possible porch, poorly built single brick thing is pulling away from the house. It will obviously need to come down eventually but I'm just kicking the can down the road for a bit. Is it worth adding some angle brackets here to try and stabilise it or nah?

    Blown laminate

Best bit is that they haven't run the laminate up to the wall, just under the kickboard, so any spills run over the end and cause all the damage... It's just tiny areas, would that coulourfill stuff work? Rather than just scratch repair.

    Blown laminate

Hi I knackered up the laminate next to the sink, homebrew incident, I've sealed it up a bit with some mdf sealant, any product I could dab on it to stop it getting much worse? I was thinking something like those tiny enamel paints to use on models?!

    Leveling units and work top

Hi I have a washing machine and a dishwasher in a lean to with an uneven floor. I want to level them up properly and add a drier over the washing machine. The plan... Construct a plate using leveling feet from a few sheets of ply to sit the machine on - using...

    Supporting a wine rack!

Cheers, the support is dead centre so yeah, I hope it should be ok. It's holding just shy of 50 bottles, 56kgs by my reckoning, just feels like loads!

    Supporting a wine rack!

Hi I have constructed a ~600mm x 200mm shelf to support a 50 bottle wine rack (spoils of the summer) weighing in at about 60kgs. The shelf is supported on 3 sides by bits of 20mm timber and the centre is supported by 2 x 18mm plywood sheets ~190mm x 850mm (glued and screwed) - vertical...

Locking 2 sections of stable door

Cheers, yeah it's an external door, so I should dead lock both sections. I guess it's not too tricky to fit, but it's a fairly important thing to get right, *never* found anyone who could do a decent job... sighs

Locking 2 sections of stable door

My tool of a carpenter put the dead lock in the wrong section, leaving the top only locked with the bolt (my fault for not noticing... but still). What would be the best way lock both sections together? i.e. with a key... Any thoughts?
