Hi

I have constructed a ~600mm x 200mm shelf to support a 50 bottle wine rack (spoils of the summer) weighing in at about 60kgs. The shelf is supported on 3 sides by bits of 20mm timber and the centre is supported by 2 x 18mm plywood sheets ~190mm x 850mm (glued and screwed) - vertical.

Should this hold the weight ok?

The centre support will takes your weight and that of a few others, very safe [as long as it's centred].

Cheers, the support is dead centre so yeah, I hope it should be ok. It's holding just shy of 50 bottles, 56kgs by my reckoning, just feels like loads!
