That's why i wasnt sure if i removed up until the arch as I'd seen both only - removed up to the arch and also removed up to a couple of rows below the arch.
I'm maybe overthinking it!
Yeah that was what I expected. But then couldn't see a lintel and came across the arch further up. And the bricks seemed to have a straight line at the edge of the back from the floor all the way to the arch so wasn't sure.
Hi all. Got a 1930s house and looking to open up the brickwork of the fire after its been patched in. But I'm unsure how far down the original fireplace goes. Anybody got an idea?
The front bottom bit around the bottom is definitely patched in... but I'm sure about the bit above there going up...
Getting a new roof fitted and needs signing off by the council.
They haven't finished yet but there seems.to be some abnormalities in the has between tiles and it seems to stand out.

About to buy a house and the vendors have removed a camera which has smashed around a third of the brick. Its very noticeable.
Is this hard or costly to repair? Or a fairly simple job?
Whats the general cost on rebuilding like this?
Probably around 3x7m. The general garage is tatty, has lost a few tiles and has some plants coming through the roof, not sure its salvageable.
Having regard to the current condition of the main roof coverings; you should anticipate the
need for complete stripping and replacement in around the next 5 - 7 years, but with
appropriate maintenance work potentially extending the life of the covering. Given the nature
of the roof covering...
Some on here will have a far better understanding than I ever will. Any thoughts on this?
1. A degree of deflection/misalignment was apparent to the roof slopes, with misalignment noted
around the side-facing eaves, and with “roof-spread” related movement considered a
contributory factor...
Thanks really appreciate the help, we just weren't sure on the process if we infringed closer than 3m to the sewer but sounds like there may well be a way to work it out with them directly if it came to it.
We think going out the back maybe better and kill the 'dead zone'. That Will hopefully...
Its a house that we're in the process of buying and just had the drainage search back.
We considered extending out the back way or potentially to the side. Absolutely norhing decided but just wanted to know our options before completing the purchase and paying a price for a extendable plot...
