According to the manual the boiler has a seperate drain tap for the hot water and the boiler, would i still need to drain the central heating?

I have to fit a DHW flowstat or water throttle head assy as they are called in the manual (britony combi 80 boiler), This may be a stupid question can i just shut the mains supply and run the taps or do i shut the mains and drain from the drain tap, i presume i don't need to drain the central...

Right i think ive sussed i disconnected the DHW flow stat and the central heating worked fine and the reset switch worked, when i reconnectd the flow stat i have the same problems. Where can i get a replacement DHW flow stat for a britony combi 80 boiler, and whats the procedure for draining...

An update on the boiler, the boiler seems to be running constantly even when the selector switch is set to 0, it keeps trying to fire and then clicks off, the reset switch also does not work. hot water still works fine. Any ideas ? is my best option to use the british gas they have quoted...
