Combi Hot water temperature fluctuates on shower

I've got a ravenheat condensing combi providing hot water. It's been running fine but recently when having a shower (not thermostatic just a regular mixer) the temperature will drop for 10 secs or so as if the flame's out then it will come back on for a while. Any ideas what's causing this...

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

you tell um Slug! nessessary or not i put the bypass in if for no other reason than to eliminate another excuse for the system not working. It's only a valve, a few T's and a bit of pipe so why not. Didn't make a blind bit of difference from what I can tell but I understand why you would want...

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

Sent the last lot packing they wanted £450 to rectify. The boiler only cost me that! anyway... Finally got a decent engineer on this problem. It turns out to be a simple cost free!!!! solution. The little hose coming off the air pressure switch was too long and had a kink in it. It caused...

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

had a proper corgi plummer round to have a look. It didn't seem like he had too many complaints but slight rectification needed. Said the boiler had a manufacturers fault. His firm had just completed installing 120 of them on a new housing estate and about 10 had problems. Ravenheat came out...

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

when i stop drawing HW the burners cut out straight away, as they should, then about 5 seconds later the warning light will come one and boiler will need resetting. Not sure of the boiler temperature.

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

just filling the bath as I speak - no CH on. It;s never stopped pumping out HW mid demand. As soon as i turn the HW tap off the boiler will need resetting if i want more HW.

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

don't like to give up easily but on this occassion ive gone as far as I can with it. It's definately the last Ravenheat I buy. Hope the engineer can do something with it next week. Really don't need this hassle as baby due in 8 weeks and house is a sea of devistation.

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

OK bypass is now installed but still got the same problem as before. It's as if the boiler has no control of itself - just heats up the water until it overheats! must be a faulty stat somewhere maybe but it's definately beyond my meagre skills. need an engineer

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

Tony, your absolutely correct. What can I say? It was Christmas. We needed heat. British Gas wanted 5 grand he wanted a few hundred quid - simple math. Didn't realise about the Corgi thing until it was too late. Pay peanuts get monkeys scenario I think. Thanks for all the replies the've been...

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

nice one. ok i'll fit one of these and plumb the bathroom radiator boiler side to act as a heatsink to stop the critter overheating all the time. Just 1 thing.. how does the bypass help with the hot water problem? The boiler cuts out even if there's no central heating on.

thanks Kev, there is definately no bypass on the system. Is there an easy way plumbing 1 in? Can you go into the shop and buy a bypass or is it a number of components along loop connecting the flow and return pipes?

Ravenheat csi85t keeps cutting out! Dodgy install?

I saw this high efficiency combi boiler in a B&Q sale and had to stick in me basket. It's been installed on an existing 1 pipe system well within it's capacity. I can't get hold of the installer which leaves me with no manufacturers warrentee and the following problems: Turn the heating on...

Should I sign up for British Gas Cover????

took out cover 2 months ago then the pump went. Rang them tuesday night and they came round Thursday to fix it. No drama - paid for itself for the next year. Rather pay up front than write out a blank cheque for whoever you manage to get out in an emergency. Sign!

    New radiator doesn't get hot

i'm pretty certain the pin on the trv is sticking out and it's pointing the right way. I'll get a hammer on it later to loosen it up a bit. The plumming is a short as possible but not as simple as it was before. I'll have to pull it all apart and start again i guess. thanks.
