    Some manufacturers supply a coil of sticky backed foam sealant strip,similar to the kind you can get for draught proofing(windows and doors)but usually denser.Stick it to the countertop at the edge of the hole,less messy and easier to remove hob in future.Try an ironmongers or DIY store.
