Ahha, agree we need to have initial BC inspection and then carry out the proposed kitchenette installation and then final inspection before we get the certificate to use as lawful.
As for the PP, we got the PP when we applied for the building erection (its a new built and we were granted the PP...
I am not sure what it includes but i guess its just one-off payment.
The message does not make it a clear reading unfortunatley, even we are not sure what is their scope of work and what would we get out of this payment? For example, would BC issue a change of use certificate once the...
Update:
You application has been reviewed and can now confirm the charge to pay is now £420.00.
I guess we can call a result that they reduced the cost, but would it still be classed as fair?
Yes it does and like most councils’ fees are published on the council website. The scope of work, as described earlier, didn’t fall into standard fee structure hence an email to the BC to clarify the correct fee
Update:
Thank you for your response.
Your request has been forwarded to a Building Control Surveyor and you should receive an individually assessed charge sometime over the next few days.
Progress?
.
lol.
Above sounds about right, i know its ridiculous what they have asked me to pay, may be chancing the opportunity? Anyway, I am hopeful that some sort of sense would be reinstated.
I guess thats one way of justifying the excessive charge, lol.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious typo, you are rigth it should have been typed existing!

We currently have your proposed floor plan, please provide an existing layout so that we can give you an individually assessed charge quotation."
Received above message...
Its beyond me how they managed to work that out, they asked me to send existing and proposed drawings.
The work needed (clearly indicated on the drawings) was addition of a kitchenette, that’s all, (bathroom and a (bed)room already exist) so naturally rest of the outbuilding remains unaffected.

Thank you for your recent building notice submission.
I can confirm the correct charges are £840.00, if you have not already done so, please make your payment by either forwarding a cheque, or via...
Called our council and they asked me to write to BC explaining what needs to be done, the person answered the phone didn’t think i need PP as the outbuilding already granted one.
I have dropped an email to BC explaining the current situation.
