    Air circulating in rads

Thanks again Brian.. Sorry for delay in responding. I will check the steps you kindly posted for me. Some of your pints do not apply (I.e. old pipework, high pipework requiring venting), but many thanks for even considering them for me. Will get back with results......or dare I say...

    Air circulating in rads

Yes, closed bypass (on pipe work NOT the one on top of the 3 way valve) when flushing, and reopened to original setting (it's just the screw type not an auto-bypass). How should it actually be set as I have tinkered a bit to see if that eliminates the problem, but no luck so far.

    Air circulating in rads

Yep, valve on top of pump seems to be letting air out fine. But most of the air seems to be 'appearing' when the DHW is used and and then the CH circuit kicks back in. I.e. when the 3 way vlave returns iself to it CH setting, lots of whooshing is heard and the temp gauge surges up to 75...

    Air circulating in rads

Hi Steve.. First of all thanks..... Is that the valve on top of the waterpump? If so, it doesn't actually have a cap on it right now! Air did come out of it when I refilled it recently so know it's working OK. Although I'm most concerned about air getting into the system rather than out...

    Glow worm Xtrafast Fault

Hi All.. Got an intermittent issue with my Glow worm Xtrafast 96 combi boiler. When the heating system first starts up (morning or eve) a little red triangle flashes and a symbol of a Fan in an upside down funnel shape flashes (excuse the non-technical desption!). Now I've looked up the fault...

    Setting TRVs

Hi, thanks Softus........just to clarify as I think you've misunderstood me slightly...... No, the TRV head is already removed.....the part I am referring to with the little numbers is a small black sleeve type thing that sits around the pin. This part then has a sleeve nut that locks it into...

    Setting TRVs

Hi All.. Hoping for a bit of assistance with setting up a TRV. Living room has 2 rads (which have recently been removed, flushed and refitted). One Rad gets warm pretty quickly but the other struggles. Both outlet valves (Lock vlaves??) are open and working ok. I've taken the thermostat...

    High Temp Thermostat keeps tripping

Guys n girls.. OK. Firstly many, many thanks for the time and advice that you have given me. Over the weekend I'll spend some time getting the system as clean as possible (and remove the pump, HE and check all the gauzes for blockages) ..........and then add some more cleanser and leave in...

    High Temp Thermostat keeps tripping

Hi again.. Had the heat exchanger off a few times now as the 1st problem I had (about 4 months ago) it came up with fault code 9.....which turned out to be the Heat Exchanger being quite badly blocked with scale. Have checked again and the 'domestic' side of the HE is a black colour, but not...

    High Temp Thermostat keeps tripping

Thanks for speedy response. Fitz - The display reads a fault code: 05 - overheating And thanks too ACO, but I've already replaced the Thermostat. Still behaves exactly the same. Pump seems to be getting water round the system fairly well..... I'm starting to think that this system is...

Hi.. I have a Glow Worm Xtrafsat 96 (Saunier Duval) and the High Temperature Thermostat keeps tripping. I recently had quite a clogged up system so I drained the system, added a cleanser, ran it for 4 weeks and the drained it out again. I then added some 'preserver' upon refill and since then...
