I initially changed the body which was a landis & gyr mav 322 for a siemens cav something.. anyway it is compatable. I only took the actuator off the siemens to see if i could move the spindle...the thing is I still have exactly the same problem as when I had the L&G.. the electrics appear to be...

Hi,
I have an old baxi solo 2 boiler. During the summer I noticed hot water heating the rads so I turned them off. When it started getting colder I turned the heating on but it wouldn't work without the hot water on. The rads were hot but couldn't adjust the temp. Like an idiot I thought it...
I replaced both gaskets the last time I changed it plus I have a carbon monoxide detector I bought from Amazon for £20... what you people don't seem to understand is that not everyone can afford to call out a repairman... for a new fan & someone to install it would have cost me over £200
well thanks for all your replies... firstly the first fan I fitted was because my CH broke down on Xmas eve .. everywhere was closed or doing inventory but I was lucky to find a plumber who had an old boiler & sold me its fan... which I fitted myself as there was no one else... hey this is not...
answer to the 1st post .. I don't know maybe 10yrs
2nd post ..It was a recon fan from all spares direct .. It was them that told me that it wasn't a problem with the fan & refused to replace it under the 1 yr warranty... I fitted it myself the third one since new ... Yes the gaskets were OK ...
Hi I've got the above fan & tried to replace it under warranty only to be told that my boiler is overheating & that was the reason it burnt out....consequently the warranty was no good...I don't really understand how the boiler can overheat & what if anything can I do about it
checked continuity on lock & wires....have continuity between 3 & 2 but none between 1 & 3 on lock.. continuity both OK on wires...ordered a new lock & fitted it but no joy... didn't test it before installation but tested it after...seems the same as the old one no continuity between 1 & 3... am...
Ok I guess you mean the switch that cuts off the heating & directs it to the water... But it's still strange though, one rad is quite close but the other one is far away in the bathroom.. Anyway thanks for the info will check it out
just started far as I can tell... Baxi solo 2..just changed the fan a couple of days ago with an old one I had that's very noisy, the other one had packed up...can't think that has got anything to with it though
