Dont know about the bell, but when I said it stops when I turn the lights off I meant it stops when I turn off the MCB for the upstairs lighting circuit, does this mean its more likely to be that ?

I have metal roller blinds (I think they are called rolladen) they come down outside the windows by means of a cord inside the house, lots of propertys in europe have them. One of them will not come down when up without opening the window and pulling it down, the cord seems slack, anyone ever...

my pilot light on the boiler ( a combi, small tank in loft) is on but does not fire up when heating is switched on, it worked this morning so it cant e anything anyone has disturbed, I cannot hear the pump but I cant say I ever heard it before!! any ideas??
