    Insane bathroom condensation

Yup https://www.vent-axia.com/domestic-fan-installation-compliance-checker Almost all of that type have literature stating that that length of ducting won't be an issue unfortunately. not easily. I think for now short showers & larger gap under the door is the temporary solution. At a later...

Yes and no. That extractor is one of the most powerful extractors that isn't an inline type. It's certainly the type (and others like it) recommended for normal size bathrooms and 1.4m of ducting cannot be described as long. Unfortunately almost every top website that lists best extractor fan...

    Insane bathroom condensation

Painted black (anti mould paint). Will do a few tests this week, will run the shower 30 mins with door closed and see at which point it builds up ie max shower length. 3rd experiment...will up the room temp from 21.5 to 23c (or higher) and see how that affects things

    Insane bathroom condensation

Just a bit of an update, post testing... Left the bathroom door completely open and ran the shower for 30 mins. Top 2-3 lines of tiles around whole room started to get moisture build up after around 10 mins and stayed fairly stable at "damp" until gone 20 minutes but approaching 30 mins the...

    Insane bathroom condensation

100% on the squeegee, if anything if you don't do it you're forever cleaning the streaks! We actually had a huge humidity issue when we moved in a couple of years ago, short version is that a breathable Edwardian property had been blocked up, so we installed trickle vents, constant forced...

    Insane bathroom condensation

3 of the 4 walls are internal walls ie aren't insulated whereas the one external wall and the ceiling have 150mm PIR. Extraction works fine up to the 10 mins mark, no obvious signs of condensation etc but when the kids go for their long dramatic showers it turns into a rainforest. All windows...

    Insane bathroom condensation

Right, could be onto something with the door gap, eye balling it looks to be 4-5mm on average. If 10mm is the minimum... What's the ideal? Guessing not much more as poor aesthetics would come into play. Teenagers..... Unfortunately the window opening is over the bath and fairly high ie I know...

    Insane bathroom condensation

Got the below, one of the highest L/m I could find that fits rigid pipe (unfortunately a few models have ridges on them that mean despite being advertised for 100mm they don't actually fit within). Walls and ceilings have 150mm PIR and the radiator is on 22c the whole time although the surface...

    Insane bathroom condensation

Renovated a bathroom 2 years ago, took it back to brick and started again basically. Did the research, rigid ducting being better than flexible etc, short runs as possible, extractor close to shower and so forth. Yet the condensation in the bathroom after a long shower (anything over 10 mins) is...

Further work on already signed-off loft conversion

Re insulation thickness, current plan is flexible insulation between the 75mm rafters, 100mm PIR on top (i.e. 175mm in total). Calcs get me to around the 0.15 requirement but think i've got leeway up to 0.35 given age of property

Further work on already signed-off loft conversion

Hi, thanks for responding. I'm hoping it is just that aspect but how can I know 100%? Basically don't want to avoid the loft conversion status i.e. lose 2 bedrooms from a value perspective
