    Radiator tail leaking

Just installed a new radiator and valves for mother-in-law, had to cut and shut some pipe but all good... except the damn tails on the radiator (where they connection into the actual radiator) are leaking. I've taken them apart again, cleaned up, plenty of ptfe and screwed back in, and still...

    Toilet pan connector advise

Thanks guys, only a small angle grinder so quite a chore, but got there in the end! The cistern is to go against a wall unit to fit first, so about 30cm (12") from wall to toilet (at a rough guess)

    Toilet pan connector advise

Bobasd: As I said the soilpipe was covered the whole time, taken off tonight to start. You should of seen all the other pipework :) That is in a box there and won't be seen so not fussed. So cut back, and use something like...

    Toilet pan connector advise

Been renovating the bathroom, and onto the toilet! I had this covered whilst doing everything else so hadn't given it much thought till now. I had wrongly assumed that there was an adaptor onto the main out pipe, however none of it seems to shift at all. From the wall to the lip all seems to be...

    Old A/B valve advice

Thanks, re-enforces my thinking.. I might have access to a pipe freezer, tad easier than a complete drain!

    Old A/B valve advice

Cylinder is easy enough, just the mid valve, which I guess will require a drain as doesn't seem easy to replace the a/b otherwise.

    Old A/B valve advice

It's not been right for years, the heating always comes on with the hot water, so either the brain or valve is dead. Hence why trying to understand how the mid-position valve works with just 2 wires for power. As far as I can tell Hive can run all this no issues, it's just the mid-position valve...

    It's a Honeywell AQ6000 running system B I believe.

Scaffold towers - just how useful/flexible are they?

Did you buy one in the end? What did you think of it? I've got a large hedge and a ladder is such a pain to use around it, also I do musical Christmas lights on the house and a ladder can be a pita sometimes. I was looking at https://www.ladders-999.co.uk/diy-hot-shots/domestic-steel-towers.html...

    Old A/B valve advice

I've got an ageing old Honeywell system plumbed into my house, and want to modernise it :) I've bought a Hive to replace it, and after carefully checking everything decided to replace. However the existing Honeywell brain (magic box) does all the work, e.g. the hot water cylinder has two wires...

AEG OKO_Favorit dishwasher, can't open the door!

FYI, I ended up dismantling the handle and what I could from the front (no access to inside or anything as it's all screwed into place, and you need to open the door to remove it), mostly by prising bits out carefully. What had happened, is that on the end of the inside handle (depress to open)...

AEG OKO_Favorit dishwasher, can't open the door!

We moved in about 6 years ago, and the above dishwasher was in the house. We don't use it that often, maybe once/twice a month, but we used it the other night, it did it's cycle and now we can't open the door. It's jammed solid (soloniod?) We've tried letting it finish another cycle, power cycle...

    Power cable for outdoor

As stated, it's a "small above ground" pool, which is in enclosed area (stop kids getting to it) with a small hut next to it, to house the pump/heater and (eventually) electrics. Currently it's running of an extension lead (with rcd and heat cut out on it) although we don't use the heater...
