A Few Tiles Off, Can I Stick Them Back On?

There is no ceiling below. This is a ground floor extension, and it has a concrete floor. It is attached to the back of my Victorian terrace house. Never mind, I'll just have a go anyway.

A Few Tiles Off, Can I Stick Them Back On?

Thanks Bob, I think. The backing is rendering of some kind, not plasterboard. The bathroom is a ground floor extension built about nine years before I moved into this house twenty four years ago - it's entitled to a bit of wear and tear after 30-odd years! I don't think the builder bodged...

A Few Tiles Off, Can I Stick Them Back On?

As a lady of a 'certain age' on a pension, I won't be doing a proper job I'm afraid. Agility and money are not what they used to be, any more! The rest of the tiles around the bath are fine, it's obviously where the shower hits the wall that these few have come unstuck. Should I seal the wall...

A Few Tiles Off, Can I Stick Them Back On?

My problem is a few tiles which have become detached and need sticking back on again. They are being held on by the mastic around the bath, and I don't want to take them off as the job will snowball! I am drying out the wall behind them so I can just apply a few dabs of something, but I don't...

    Composition front door leaks air

Hello John, no not bare floorboards, but my two elderly and not terribly well cats need to to be able to come and go. Litter trays and food bowls etc can't be confined to one room. I do have some of those under-door tube things that keep draughts out. They're quite effective. And a door...

    Composition front door leaks air

Thanks, footprints, some good ideas. Trouble is, our Wickes for example, you can't LOOK at draught excluders - you have to look in a catalogue and choose and some spotty sixteen year old kid goes and gets it. No advice any more, you have to guess. I bought some last year from there and it was...

    Composition front door leaks air

Thank you, footprints. I do have a heavy curtain up, which unfortunately doesn't reach to the floor, but I will look out for another one. What I have done is seal down the gap with parcel tape! It leaves marks when I take it off (removeable with WD40), and it's inconvenient when the postman...

    Composition front door leaks air

Help, I am COLD! My eleven year old, three-lock composition front door leaks the North wind straight into my front room where I sit. I think the draught excluding felt strip in the frame is worn, but also recently I had problems with locking the door, and the window/door repair company came...

    Bicarbonate of soda help

Dextraneous, thank you! I have found a supplier on Amazon who don't charge for delivery! That's marvellous. I have just ordered a big bag of the stuff. Hopefully my house will soon smell better! Bicarb is wonderful stuff, it really works, and it's safe around animals.

DIYNot has never let me down and now I need some really specific and local help - PLEASE. I have an elderly cat with a leaky bladder and the only thing that can help soak up the problem in my carpet is Bicarb of soda. I need large quantities of it. Trouble is, I can get it from the...

    Cleaning WD40/oil off a concrete drive/installing a post

Thanks Pigeon, but it would have to be lockable because the people round here are unbelievable. They would take any post that wasn't tied down! My garage posts weren't concreted in (only temporary ones) and they took those!! And what's a degreasing detergent? Can you recommend any?
