    Mysterious second water supply

Hi all, Needing to move a stopcock that's currently hidden in the kitchen cupboard as it'll soon be in the way of a set of patio doors.. That stopcock is attached to a pipe coming up from the foundations and is a cold water main that does the west side of the house (only a 3 bed, nothing...

    Shower tray wet room formers

In the above, we have 18mm ply on the floor, I think the former was 30mm deep, so 18 ply + 12 abacus board on the floor meant a level floor.

    Shower tray wet room formers

That's exactly it - I'll attach a few build pics. We've got the Abacus boards on the walls downstairs but the former with abacus on the floor (walk in shower) and then hardi on the walls upstairs.

Can recommend the Abacus preformed ones, though they're pricey and you end up with buckets of the blue tanking stuff. Put two in ours now, about to do a third, I've used their panels for the walls too and it fastens dead easy. Tiling over the former is tricky if you've got bigger stuff, just...

Propping timber frame for bifold doors

Hi, I've propped several brick houses before but this is the first timber frame. Putting 2.4m bifolds into the side of a timber frame house with wooden cladding on the outside. Joists for the first floor run parallel to the wall where the doors will be going - there's not much weight on this...

    Soil stack venting

Cheers Hugh! I assume it can be a tighter bend back into the vertical stack? Went for another look under the floor, it stack is currently 100mm offset from the floor drain anyway - so actually it'd be a 450mm offset instead.

    Soil stack venting

Thanks muggles and Hugh, I'll have another look under the floor to see if we can't shift the whole thing, might be sat in concrete however. Failing that, something long like this to bring the stack back to the main drain? https://www.screwfix.com/p/87-5-double-socket-rest-bend/12719

    Soil stack venting

Unfortunately not, continuing it vertical from the new offset location would go right through the middle of a new window in the bathroom. Had planned to asked BC when they're over next week, but wondered if there was any gotchas with either way. Have seen a few example where a tee has been...

    Soil stack venting

Hi all, Looking to move a soil stack about 550mm (then back 550mm in the void below the house) to allow for some wider windows to be put in downstairs. At the same time we're doing the bathroom upstairs, taking one dingy en-suite and merging it with the equally dingy bathroom next door into one...
