Generally it's a bad contact or soldered joint on one of the 5 pin relays on the control board. Remove and inspect it, re-soldering as necessary. That should do the trick. New boards are about a hundred nicker.

Noise is most likely to be tight pipes across joists or under floorboards. Lift boards, relieve tightness, wrap in felt lagging across joists. Carefully re-lay boards. Or it could be a dripping pipe!!! MM
