Will reducing 1/2" to 3/8" in hot feed lower the p

OK well thanks it seems there is not a lot of difference which way I chose. I don't understand the logic of normally using 3/8" for hot water. I thought it was perhaps like a finger on the end of a hosepipe, the flow is the same amount but the pressure is increased

Will reducing 1/2" to 3/8" in hot feed lower the p

I am replacing a 6 litre heater on the balcony with an 11 litre one, to heat more hot supply. The new heater has a 1/2" exit. The pipe in the wall to a shower and sink is 3/8" but I cant get to it. So for max supply/pressure do I reduce down at the heater or wait till the wall. The pipe length...

3/4 pipe or 5/8 pipe for maximum pressure?

OK thanks , then I`ll go for the 3/4 as I want more volume- But I am not relying on a 12' head because the deposit up top of the hill feeds the whole village at 1.5 bar. As a lot of pipework on the hot side normally is 5/8 I thought that would be more pressure like putting your finger on the end...

3/4 pipe or 5/8 pipe for maximum pressure?

I live in a mountain village. The water from a mountain deposit feeds 1.4 bar to my gas, bottle fed, Fagor water heater. The hot water feeds one kitchen tap and one shower. The pressure is not good enough to supply enough hot water (in Winter anyway). It is a 6 litre model so I intend to buy an...

Pressure difference on raising and lowering one metre ?

Thanks a lot Tickly, I understand that point now. I will say I got my sums wrong as I measured the pressure as actually 2.2 bar. Another thing I cant understand about flow is although a bigger diameter is said to give a bigger flow 3/8 to 1/2, the water still has to go through maybe a couple of...

Pressure difference on raising and lowering one metre ?

I have a gas bottle fed water heater on the balcony. This supplies 5 lt/min. The pressure into and out of the heater is 25 psi and only supplies a kitchen tap and a shower, but it is very slow. The heater is clean inside and valves open OK. When the weather is bearable outside I hope to install a...
