Thanks. The pump was on its middle setting so I turned it to its lowest speed. It solved the problem but now the system takes a long time to heat up. I think I will turn it back up and see if reducing the lockshield valve openings has any effect. I imagine that will work only if the TRVs are...

Sorry about this old chestnut. I installed Reglo valves on several rads. They chatter like mad when the rads get to the preset temperature. The valves are supposed to be bi-directional. It would be a big job to replace them all with a different make[/b]
