Can I fit a new cooker?

I realise it would be out of scope for the tickets I hold, what I was really looking for was some heads up or a bit of advice on things to look out for as this is a one off for a friend and I haven't worked with cookers much other than what's covered in CCN1. I work with gas so I understand the...

Can I fit a new cooker?

I'm Gas Safe registered, done CCN1, CPA, CENWAT but not cooker unit. I've only worked on boilers and other gas heaters, never cookers. It's for a friend, there's a bayonet fitting already there so I'd just be connecting the other one up, carrying out a tightness test then following...

    IGE/UP/1 + 1A

Does anyone know where I can get an electronic copy of these without having to pay an extortionate cost? I know the Gas Safe site has a subscription service which has it but it's still expensive. I'm amazed they charge so much for such documents.

    Joining Combustion Chamber

It wants a Gas Safe registration number which I haven't yet got, I've done my domestic ACS and got the certificate, I have also just done the commercial changeover assessment at an ACS centre along with numerous other units but until the certificates for that arrive I wont have a Gas Safe number...

    Joining Combustion Chamber

If I send my gas certificates by email to an admin, could I join the combustion chamber forum and if so, who would I send them to? Cheers.

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

Cheers, I've read that bit in the commercial viper book but was wondering how this is tested in practice. Would I use a flue gas analyser to measure the POC and check the CO2 level, or just ensure there is adequate ventilation following manufacturer's instructions? I am mainly going to be...

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

gaswizard - I've found excerpts from Gas Installation Technology by R.D Treloar on google which gives a very good explanation of what I'm asking. However, if I'm understanding the calculation correctly the calculation asks you to look up on the chart the temperature difference between the...

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

gaswizzard - Thanks. Would BS EN 13410:2001 have this information in aswell? Would you not be able to calculate the air transfer rates from the dimensions/openings for a room? I'll see if I can get hold of that book from a library or something. Does the table provide transfer rates based on...

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

Ah rite, no I've never been registered. I've just completed an apprenticeship in heating and vent, sat my ACS at which point the company was going to make me redundant but instead have transferred me into a commercial division and I am to sit the commercial conversion course + additional units...

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

I can't mate I don't have my own gas registration to register as a member. I've got ACS CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT but have not been put on the company's registration as I'm transferring over to another division (commercial.)

    Domestic to Commercial Gas

Thought of another two questions! 4. Is it normal to use a flue-gas analyser on flueless warm air, radiant tube, spot heaters etc in a commercial building? 5. It mentions in the viper book taking a CO2 reading for a flueless radiant tube heater and ensuring levels are less than 2800ppm in...
