    Performa 28 Central Heating Problem

Thanks for the reply. Tried to put a bit of silicone grease on the pin whilst it was up tonight which seemed to help a little. It would only need to drop a tiny amount more to "un-activate". I'll take it apart properly tomorrow if I get back from work in time. Thanks again.

    Performa 28 Central Heating Problem

Hi all, our Performa 28 has been showing the Pump/Low pressure warning recently. I can get it to reset if it's been off for a while. The pressure looks fine and I've checked the pump which appears to be working. The hot water is fine. Assuming it's been reset it will happily turn on as per...

Potterton Performa 28 Diverter Valve issue

Have just replaced the diverter valve on our Performa 28 due to the heating coming on when hot water was used. Apart from a minor leak on the bypass pipe everything has gone back in OK (as far as I can tell) but the boiler won't fire. The pump starts (slightly nosily) and after a few seconds...

    Leaking Elbow Joint

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but just wanted to say thanks to jono for the tip. That pipe seal cord is awesome and I now have a working shower.

    Thermal Imaging

Based on forum rule 12 half the stuff I've read would count as advertising. How many links are there to screwfix for a start. I'm simply trying to help people out who may be needing that service - just as I almost did. When I did the search for Thermal imaging originally there were at least 3...

    Non Return Valves.

not to disagree but I've recently had the mother of all nightmares with what appeared to be a boiler problem - we had no hot water even though the boiler appeared to be working fine. It turned out to be the shower valve. One of the non return valves wasn't working and we were getting mains cold...

    Thermal Imaging

Just wanted to let people know who may have use of Thermal Imaging in the Kent area (based in Tonbridge) of a company called thermaltech I thought I was going to need a thermal survey to find a leak under my concrete floors and the makers of the Cameras (Flir) gave me their details. If it...

    Leaking Elbow Joint

I'm having to fit a new thermostatic Shower Valve but I can't stop it leaking. The Shower Valve has an internal thread in the main body. There is an adapter (reducer?) that screws into the main body, which in turn has a 90 degree elbow which screws into it. My main problem is that when...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

I'll take the temp at the point it leaves the boiler by measuring the temp of the pipe as it exits the boiler. The boiler's in the garage so it's easy to access the pipes. Flow rate I'll do if I get a chance tonight but the wife will probably throw a fit if I try it. I was thinking whilst...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Thanks for the reply. It's a Performa 28 Not an engineer but will try and get these readings. Do they need to be taken from the water itself or could they be taken from the pipework? Flow rate I'll try and measure this weekend. Being so close to Xmas the Wife's organised load's of...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Another update. Paynes returned yesterday with the new 3 way valve (didn't fit a DHW Presure differential valve). Fitted it but now it's more confusing. Apart from frying the PCB (luckily he had a new one on the van) the hot water has got slightly warmer, but if you run the hot tap, turn it off...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Thanks for the reply. Part of my problem is that I'm dealing with a sub-contractor who can't arrange to do the work until Baxi have Ok'd it and sent the part (which takes at least 4 days). Initally I did contact a local guy but he said to call baxi as it would be cheaper than him doing it...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Well, it's now nearly a month later and I'm still without hot water. Baxi have been next to useless (it takes them a week to dispatch parts to their sub-cons) and are not interested in my complaints or doing anything to help me. Third engineer came out yesterday to fit a DHW Heat Exchanger but...

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Seems to just be HW, heating seems fine. Burnt my hand on the towel rad just the other day:-)

No Hot Water - Only Lukewarm

Boiler fires up fine, then shuts off when it gets to 80 on the front panel (does get to 80 quite quickly mind). It then comes back on when it goes down to 60.
