    Tiling onto a mdf/chipboard carcass?

To resurrect this one, the tiles have come away from the carcass. I used Mapei flexible poder adhesive. Any recommendations for the behind tile adhesive to use? Several of them have just pulled away, the adhesive bed is a full cover and still well stuck to the tiles that came free.

    Help understanding radiator measurements

If it is only a 10mm difference in the length of the radiator you can get extension nuts with one male and one female end. screwfix or toolstaion etc carry them. I found with one of thosr I did not need to mess with the existing piping.

Advice Sought About Cleaning Products and Methods

I have an indian stone patio, sandstone is not usually attacked by brick acid, but cement and limestone do get attacked. So start with an inconspicuous bit to get used to using it. Brick acid is hydrochloric acid at a medium strength, varies by supplier, you can usually buy it at almost any of...

    Indian Sandstone

It is where the mortar is not fully bonded to the sandstone, it has slumped/shrunk or been shaken away from contact with the underside of the stone, so moisture is getting in. If they had used 5 dabs it would be circular marks, possibly laid a little wet. Most likely will stay like that now.

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Other timbers you could use outdoors are "greenheart" and "Purple Jarrah", but you would need carbide tools to cut or trim them.

    Tulip bulbs soil

Make sure the trough has holes in th bottom, natural habitat for tulips originated in dry hot deserts, they used to have the bulb about 50cm down to avoid the worst of the heat and spend all the rest of the year bone dry.

Roof tiles to repair, one with a crack

Hi, Had a roof done a while ago. I worked out that the "flashings" on the ceramiic tiles have caused a crack in two of them some time after laying. I used some spray on stuff to buy some time, but it was rubbish and has gone hard. I am thinking about solar panels on the roof sometime, so that...

    Felling a tree technique

All very well setting up the wedge gap where you want it to go, but you also have to consider where the center of mass of the whole tree above the cut is. If it is significantly off to one side, that is where it is going to fall. You may need to cutoff some of the higher up smaller branches...

Help with cleaning up cement from paving setts / bricks

It is just Hydrochloric acid, jam jar and a stiff brush to apply, then hose off afterwards. Keep it away from the cement/grout between the bricks etc, it does etch that as well.

Advice Sought About Cleaning Products and Methods

Brick acid applied to the sandstone slurry splash with an old toothbrush. Hose the acid awaywhen you are done, or stopping for a break. Use some household gloves to stop any splahes making your hands sore while you work ( I personally dont bother with the gloves because I am comfortable with a...
