    Forum Update

If you click on the "padlock" symbol in the site address bar at the top, it usually gives you a drop down box of all the cookies being used by the site. On my Mac here and now, diynot.com is using 17 cookies apparently.

I'm off for while. That box demanding I consent to the use of cookies is making the site near-unusable and psissing me off royally. Bye.

    Forum Update

How do I find the first post unread by me, in a long thread? Before, ISTR there used to be a blue dot by each thread title I could click on that would take me to it.

    Forum Update

Hopefully yes. This looks to me like a change of software supplier to InVision. The InVision forum software certainly has the useful 'little dot' facility. Maybe it just needs turning ON.

    Forum Update

On the old software if you read a thread then left it, and went back to it later or another day, there was a little dot at the start of the thread title. Click on the dot and it took you to the first new post (for you) in that thread so you picked up where you left off. Lots of people never...

    Forum Update

I immediately miss the little link by each thread title that used to take you to the first unread post in the thread. Very useful and convenient, and gone! Or is it still there and I'm just not seeing it?

    Solar 'reactive' glass

Ok I've tried their "SageBot Beta" intelligent chat to ask the question, but all I got was a resonse telling me how great SageGlass is. So I filled in their customer enquiry form asking who in the UK will make up sealed units of SageGlass in the UK for my house. Will update the board when I get...

    Solar 'reactive' glass

Thanks, that looks pretty much what I'm looking for. How do I go about finding someone able to make sealed units or whole windows using it?

    Boiler cupboard door regulations?

With a modern Worcester boiler like that you can probably use whatever door you like. The definitive answer lies in the installation manual for the boiler. It will give you chapter and verse on clearances, cupboard (compartment) volumes, ventilation etc. If you don't have the manual, download...

    Solar 'reactive' glass

My little quarter-house faces south/west and gets blisteringly hot in sunny weather. I need new windows but what I'd like is windows with glass that changes its tint from clear on cloudy days to progressively darker according to how bright the sun is, in much the same way as the lenses in my...

100cm2 Air Vent for Back Boiler ???

The Gas Regulations haven't changed since 1998. What changes is the 'guidance' (Codes of Practice, BSS etc) that if followed are deemed to prove compliance with the vaguely-worded Gas (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. As a matter of principle, your installation is required to comply with...

Best system boiler regardless of cost?

With silly and childish comments like this I now remember why I don't post in here often :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Best system boiler regardless of cost?

All brands of boilers have their detractors. Yes you are lucky to have an installer with a 'decent warehouse supply inventory'. Could you tell us what company this is that stocks Viessmann parts rather than ordering them in please? Because around here (Reading) there isn't one.

Best system boiler regardless of cost?

Not sure where you get the idea Viessmann are good quality boilers. They break down as often as any other in my experience and parts are generally only available to order, rather than over-the-counter like Vaillant, Worcester etc.
