I did during lockdown like everyone else, but gave up because it's such a faff.

I'd recommend a buzz rack. Was about £200 when I got one 5 or 6 years ago. Solid as a rock with 4 bikes on it. Boot access is a problem but with careful planning you can generally get when you need over the back of the rear seats, if you have a hatchback or estate.

It's currently about 18" but will be built full height with new brick and block work.

Thanks for reply. Building regs don't apply but I want the best performance out of what cavity I've got. It's not a big space so the difference in cost between options isn't really a factor
