think a 1 sided Valley is perfectly possible, but this is a One Sided Hip (valley hip ? ), which is how the builder's convinced me to go with his tiled plan.
So two votes on the side of the builder.
When you say better job, do you think it would look better, or do you mean it will be more sound/better sealed ?
So do you just mean like a spray foam/filler ? to bond it ?
I was thinking you meant like a piece of polystyrene (which would obviously let water through).
My architect is unfortuntealy difficult to get hold of.
Can I at least confirm what he should be doing ?
Normal Valley (Lead or GRP). Then with Glass Frame resting on the lead with overlap (so it drips into the valley) ?
Is this "Foam Bedding" inside the Glass Frame (so between the...
Alarm bells may be ringing, but it's too late now.
Having originally conceded that it's ok , now on discussion with his "glass roof" supplier, the builder is now trying to go back to his idea of tiling round the valley.
The builder is still quite convinced that it is difficult and whatever...
The architects drawing makes it quite clear that its glass to the valley. Ill see if we can talk to the builders conservatory supplier.
Why does the glass need to be on foam ? Wont it be on a frame ?
Hi,
We're getting a rear extension done on our house. It is in a T - Shape so that a pitched tile roof runs right along the back of the house (like a leant-to) and then a conservatory glass roof should protrude from the middle (in a T shape) at a 90 degree angle to the pitched tile roof...
Joe,
Did you order from slideandfold in the end ?
I've got quotes from sunseeker and slideandfold, and they are priced very differently, but I doworry that you get what you pay for.
Cheers,
Did either of you use slidandfold in the end ? What was your experience ?
We're looking to get quite a number of doors ordered and their website and sales staff have been easy to deal with to work out how to get what we want, for a good price.
I've correct my post - thanks.
I don't imagine I'd be able to approach 0.2, but perhaps closer to the 0.6 that the Utopia Roof system advertises (which would be twice as good as the 1.4 being proposed - half as much heat loss through the roof)
We're looking to build a glass roofed extension/conservatory on the back of our house (7-8 metres long).
We want to use this room in winter and so are keen to make the roof and windows as warm as possible (without going for a solid roof).
We are considering a glass roof from PolySolar...
Sorry to hijack your thread.
We're looking at an EcoCent. Did you get it installed and are you happy with it ?
Any idea if it's cheaper than gas ? (or what sort of 'COP' you're getting).
